The plays in this volume are by established New Zealand writers and were written for lunchtime theatre. They a e informal one-act plays, requiring little in the way of stage equipment and props, and are suitable for a wide range of audiences.

As with a short story compared to a novel, the condensed form of these plays offers scope to their authors for experiment in scripting and characterization. Together they represent a variety of perspectives and performance styles. They are small ‘adventures in theatre’ for writer, director, performers, audience and readers.
